thank you! (& a finished project)

First and foremost, thank you to each and every lovely one of you who took the time to comment, email and facebook me after my last post!  Means so much to know I have such positive people here to cheer me up 😀

Anyway, finally I have a new finished project to show!  Originally I intended for this top to have a turtleneck, however after a quick trying on for fit, I realised I could save myself a few hours and have a far prettier top by leaving the neckline wide.  Double bonus in my book 😀  For a while I’d wanted to make a stretchy top with a Brigitte Bardot style neckline, yet hadn’t twigged that one of my projects already on the needles could easily be engineered in this way.  Common sense isn’t my strong point!  As well as ribbed waist shaping I worked the raglans in an unconventional decrease pattern, meaning that only little cap sleeves were formed.  Other than that I kept the design pretty simple; my brain is far too consumed with revision to fathom complicated knit patterns at the minute.  Maybe another time I’ll create a masterpiece. 😉

Considering the sheer volume of revision I’ve had to plough through this week (3 days actually in school during the Easter holidays, anyone?), I’ve actually managed to be fairly productive and should *hopefully* have a few more knitting and sewing projects to show over the next 10 days or so.  I’ve also been a temporary only child this week whilst my brother’s been swanning around the Black Forest with his German exchange, but all is back to normal now and once again our house is full of his singing at full volume.  I must admit it’s been strange without him!  Do you feel odd without your siblings around?  Anybody else been particularly creative lately?
