lace

bea1 I picked this up in kit form at Woolfest – the sample on Jennie Atkinson‘s stall caught my eye and I just needed to have it!   It’s the ‘Lace Edge Camisole‘ from Jennie Atkinsons ‘A Handknit Romance’, and the kit included Tall Yarns Soliloquy Sock Lace.

This one’s been a joint project between me and my mum: she did the slog of garter and rib and I did the fiddly bits ;D  And boy were they fiddly; I lost count of the number of times I had to unpick and redo different parts of the lace trim.  Although the trim is really pretty it curls in on itself and disappears, so may be redone at some stage to show the design off to it’s full potential.

Really hoping to be able to get some wear out of this one before autumn well and truly arrives.  The eagle eyed amongst you may recognise this skirt from the Wray photographs 3 years ago – it still fits!  And come to think of it, I’ve got almost the same hairdo again now that I’ve had my fringe cut.  I’m looking forward to pairing this camisole with my favourite jeans at the moment too for a more casual look.

Those pictures are beautiful. You’ve really become quite stunning and beautiful; it’s hard to believe you were 11 when I started reading this blog! My, how the time flies! Hope you’ll tell us about Germany soon – did you get some good knitting done? Yarn shopping?
