spring break and NOT making plans

So it’s Sunday morning and so far I’ve been to a party on Friday night… drank my wine a *little* too quickly… paid the price for it on Saturday morning… had a fresh air day out in Cumbria (fab hangover cure)… had a cute Saturday night and am now cracking open the laptop and diary but NOT making a million plans.  Which is odd for me; I’m usually a go-go-go kind of person.  Whilst I’m an A* procrastinator (isn’t cleaning SO important when you have work to do?), I don’t do a good lazy.  Just the way I am – I get antsy too easily!

I’m also a very slow learner, apparently.  Every time the school/college holidays come round I decide on 50 million things I’m going to do, and surprise surprise, I don’t get round to half of them.  The same happens on a day to day basis tbh – the to-do list is always over ambitious!  And guess what: unrealistic goals leave you feeling a bit ‘bleugh’ when you don’t meet them.  Shocking, I know right?

At Christmas, at the beginning of last summer, and on about 10 other occasions, I’ve written a bunch of goals and plans to do with my break from college.  Sure, it’s fun to make goals even if they’re not exactly achievable.  I’ll be doing that forever, I can assure you!  This Spring Break though – nope.  And yes I do feel like a wannabe American saying ‘spring break’, but Easter’s passed so we don’t know what to call this fortnight off!

Half of me says ‘two weeks off, make all the plans!!!’ and half of me says ‘take a bloody break!’.  I think, for once, I’ll go for the latter.  Because seeing friends & going out & revising & daily blogging & taking a million photos & sending tons of emails & working out daily & going on day trips is slightlyyyy unrealistic, y’know?  I feel like a recharge might do me good instead.  Slowing down for a couple of weeks can’t do any harm,  Don’t have the expectations and you can’t feel disappointed in yourself, that’s my logic.  Hopefully I’ll feel refreshed. 🙂  May and June are going to be full of exams so I need to get my head down and revise more tbh.  Less than 12 weeks from now I’ll be free to make whatever plans I like.  Cannot WAIT.

Still hoping for two weeks of sun in the meantime though. 🙂

Sometimes ‘breaks’ can end up being more stressful! What fun things have you been doing? 🙂
