where I wanna be | croatia

Nothing like British cold rainy yuckiness to set the wanderlust going.  It’s May, what you playing at England?  Seriously.  Think we deserve more than 3 days of summer.  Craving sun so badly right now!  Specifically craving that feeling of walking out the airport and feeling a wave of warmth hit you.  If I could hop on a plane tonight, I would, without a doubt!  Mini weekend getaways are great, but you can’t beat an overseas break for giving you… a break.  Counting down the days ’til mine already.

Hvar, panorama

I’ve been asked to share a competition the Croatian National Tourism Board are running to win a week’s sailing holiday on the Adriatic, so here we are!  The competition’s centred around ‘out of office’ emails – something I’m sure we’re all used to seeing in our inbox.  ‘Out of Office’ emails are usually pretty boring, so the idea here is to spice them up into something witty to make the recipient chuckle into their coffee whilst tackling emails on a Monday morning.

Now I don’t have an office per se (unless you count LilyKate HQ aka my bedroom) but I think we all know what the #OutOfOffice feeling is.  I’m also pretty sure a week sailing the Croatian coast would do the job just nicely.  The holiday is up for grabs for the creator of the funniest and most creative Out Of Office reply message over here, so I reckon you should get thinking if you’re craving an escape as much as I am!  Still working on mine – gonna make it a good one. 😀

I’m yet to visit Croatia (cry me a river please) but it’s been way up on my list for agessss.  We tried planning a family holiday to drive there once – that plan never quite came to fruition but the intention and the giddiness was there.  From what I’ve read, Croatia still retains the charm that some Mediterranean resorts had years ago, and tbh it just looks beaut and like a happy place and that’s bound to bump it up my list.  If anyone’s already been, I’d love to hear your stories!

Yay so glad to hear that you would like to visit Croatia, my home country. I’m not saying this only because I live hear but It’s absolutely beautiful. I think that the best time to visit is July and August because then the sea side is full of life and fun activity’s. I recommend you to visit Zadar because it has the most beautiful sunset and the famous and unique sea organ. Oh and of course Dubrovnik and Split. But wherever you go you can expect clear and clean sea, gorgeous sunset and delicious food. xo
