youtubers | who do you trust?

No, I’m not on about the whole YouTube scandal of last year!  These 3 are very popular and whilst I’m all for watching new and up and coming Youtubers, there are a few that I return to over and over again… because I know I can trust what they say.  This is why I’ll never be a beauty blogger/vlogger – I have no need to find out the hard way that a foundation isn’t worth the money.    When I do these ‘sharing the blogger/youtuber love’ posts I tend to pick those who maybe aren’t quite so well-known, but sometimes you just want to stick to the ones you know and trust.  Of course there are more than just these three; girl needs lots of videos to watch!

Fleur never puts a foot wrong does she?  When someone isn’t afraid to post less-than-favourable reviews (as Fleur sometimes does) I’m far more inclined to believe what they say.  I don’t know why, but I get the impression that she usually does her own thing and doesn’t always follow the crowd, which as you know, I like.  One video that I sticks in my mind is the one where she talked about not particularly enjoying her time at LSE; I watched it quite a while ago and liked the fact that she wasn’t bothered about saying the time hadn’t been great.  These kind of videos are usually my favourites, the chatty ones and the vlogs and just general ‘life-y’ stuff.  Really on it with the technical terms today aren’t I?

Anything Barbara likes, I like!  Not even joking.  The ‘classy look’ styling makes me very inclined to trust her picks, and she styles items that I wouldn’t necessarily have picked, in a way that somehow really works.  Girl has an impressive collection of white shirts too!  Watching her Topshop styling videos seriously makes me want every piece. I quite like the fact that both her videos and style are quite ‘no frills’ and simple, which adds to the whole classic feel I guess.  No OTT squealiness or anything, and nice clean backgrounds.

If anyone can make standing around staring at a video camera look cool, it’s this girl!  Unlike Barbara her style isn’t always what I’d wear, but it definitely works on Jess.   The videos themselves are beautifully shot (the lookbooks in particular) and have an almost cinematic feel.  She comes across as one of the most naturally comfortable in front of the camera, and her videos that aren’t clothes related and are more personal/informative are very relatable.   In a similar way to Fleur really; I’d trust one of these girls’ opinions on the university experience as much as I’d trust them on the best picks at Topshop.

On a completely unrelated note, I haven’t exactly had the best of weeks, hence the quietness on the blogging front.  Matty and I have decided to go our separate ways even though neither of us wanted to.  Circumstance and geography were about to make things impossible.  Sad after such a short but fun time.  It’d feel dishonest not to mention anything on here as I’ve included him in several posts already, and I’d feel like I’d be conning you guys to pretend I’d been happy as larry all week.  Life throws you some pretty crappy turns sometimes, doesn’t it?
