#BoulevardBag bag no2 complete✌️ The 2nd of many I'm sure! I knit this one ridiculously densely so it's super structured. Shall be on its way to @breigenwijs as a belated birthday gift soon - I intended to finish it before our trip to Copenhagen but that didn't happen. Best laid plans and all that 🙈

The bag pattern will be released on 8th April, the same day as the #CalmDownCardigan, so there will be a little discount for purchasing both together 🧶

Did a lot of knitting in coffee shops this weekend and very much enjoyed it ☕ I'll happily knit anywhere and everywhere (as my friends will attest, my knitting always comes along to the pub) and I honestly couldn't give one if people think I'm odd. But it was quite the novelty to not be the only person with needles, and to be somewhere that knitting is so mainstream! Our trip was just for funsies but I kind of treated it as market research too, very interesting to observe a knitting culture quite different to here in the UK...

Copenhagen day 1 🇩🇰 Reunited with @breigenwijs and very happy to be here! Glad I packed an excessive amount of knits into my hand luggage suitcase because it's bloody freezing and I'm wearing 5 of them at once - #BoulevardBag is coming in very handy. I do love a little city break 🏰

Working on the double knit strap for #BoulevardBag

Working on the double knit strap for #BoulevardBag no2 🍭 Double knitting essentially creates 2 layers of stocking stitch fabric on top of each other, so it's nice and firm and stable when knit to a dense gauge (ie. perfect for a bag strap). All you need to do is repeat (knit 1, slip 1 with yarn in front) on every row ✌️

As you can see from the box of pink, I'm using all sorts of yarns for this one! The idea was for the bag to be a perfect stash buster. I found a bunch of pink / white / fluffy yarns in my stash and tried knitting various combinations together until I had a fabric I was happy with. For the strap and piping I'm using 2 strands of DK. For the main bag I'm using 1 strand of cotton DK, 1 strand of thick mohair (the 80s kind), 1 strand of @fyberspates Cumulus (alpaca), and 1 strand of fine mohair. On a 4mm needle 🙈 The fabric is like carpet which is exactly what I wanted. It isn't necessary to go quiteeee this dense since the bag has added structure with the cable ties (see previous reel), but I wanted to test the limit of handknit fabric!

Slightly tricky to take a photo of your own should

Slightly tricky to take a photo of your own shoulder but it's my favourite part 🤓 My main priority was that the buttonband lay flat and smooth around the back of the neck - no sticky-uppy neckbands thank you! Few shorts rows in there and we're all good. Focusing on super neat, polished, expensive looking everyday items this year!

#MovementSweater 🧘🏻‍♀️ I'm a fairly ac

#MovementSweater 🧘🏻‍♀️ I'm a fairly active person (currently into running, crossfit, horse riding, gym, yoga... bit of everything) so I spend rather a lot of my time wearing odd combinations of activewear, loungewear and knitwear. Usually because it seems pointless to put proper clothes on if I'm going for a run later, but then I'm cold so need a sweater 😅 Anyway, I figured it would be nice to have a sweater with more of a sweatshirt-y kind of vibe, so it looked like it was supposed to be worn that way rather than looking daft. Athleisure and all that! So here's a simple, minimal, classic jumper that is super comfy but still looks nice.

The Movement Sweater features raglan eyelet details that flow down the sides, short rows at the neck and hem, a folded collar and cuffs and a neat ribbed hem. Nicely finished but a relaxing knit! I'll be writing the pattern up soon and no doubt wearing it all year 🥰
