Haven’t had a dressy outfit post in a while have we?  I thought one was due, what with it nearly being December and all that.  Because December = Christmas = excuse to dress-up ‘dressy’ or dress-down slobby at every opportunity.  This one’s hardly your typical sequined sparkly festive getup, but I kinda like that!  And yes, I will even wear a poloneck to a party.  Obsession gone a bit too far.  When everyone else is absolutely freezing their asses off waiting outside, I’m only freezing a little bit though!  Poloneck and long sleeves means it’s not OTT, but I do like a nice slinky shape, I do.  Just right for any kind of winter-y ‘do’, party, meal out, New Years maybe?  I wore it to a birthday party a few weeks ago and will probably wear it to another within the next month too, but I’m the kinda gal that’s only ready 2 minutes before rushing out the door so late/early outfit photos it is.

Boy was this one a dressing room saga!  You know the ones, where your arm gets stuck in the wrong opening, the whole item ends up twisted round your neck, and you can’t even see the way out for the 6 layers of fabric covering your eyes?  Nope?  Just me?  Ok… well anyway this was up there with the best of the dressing room sagas.  I mean, it was a very tight-fitting dress and a jumper, sewn together in one awkward place.  Made for a very confusing entry and exit.  Where the hell am I supposed to put my arm?  I’ve chopped the ties now though so we’re all good.  No more tangled struggles for my mum to stand and laugh at. 🙂

These were my first ever pair of heels would you believe (see first photo for height – talk about throwing myself in at the deep end).  My mum’s face when I showed her what I’d bought… she didn’t have much faith in my balance haha.  I soldiered on through the awards evening wearing them though!  And then they remained in the cupboard for a good few years, to be brought out once I learned to actually walk in heels.

Thank you so much Alina! I like how the colour’s not too boring beige but not too pink either. If I had grey knee length boots, I’d definitely wear this with them!
