november writing challenge | day 22 | do you know

“How do you know?”

Short answer: you don’t!  At least not in my opinion anyway.  You don’t know what opportunities, hiccups or people might lay just around the corner.  Or combinations of the three, that might work out good or bad.  Life is just too unpredictable and throws far too many curveballs to ‘know’ anything for sure.  I’m saying this about the future, but I don’t think you can be 100% certain about the past in some ways either.  Everyone else’s version of events will be different to our own; so many influences from here there and everywhere that who knows the absolute truth about the past either?  ‘I know that I know nothing’, some clever guy called Socrates or something once said, so you know, bringing this philosophical stuff to day to day life!  (And no I’m not a fountain of ancient quotes, that one’s on the wall in my History classroom).  Seriously though, so much can change from one week to the next, and tiny little things can have far more of an impact than you’d ever imagine, so I really do think certainty is damn near impossible.  I don’t mind though!

socks and jumper: Primark | boots: Topshop | shorts: H&M | shirt: Dad’s

Not often I borrow from my Dad’s wardrobe but I’ve claimed this shirt as my own!  Mothers clothes are raided all the time, Dad’s not so much haha. 😛  Flannel check shirts are perfect for cosy casual days though, even if this is pretty much a skirt when tied!  No shortage of clothes of my own, and yet I’m always pinching my family’s like I have nothing to wear.  Like that’s ever actually the case.

I look tiny next to this tree!  Like a little elf. 😛  Looks like I’m stood next to some giant Redwood or something, not a random exceptionally large tree down a public footpath in Lancashire haha.  Giant mushroom chilling on the side too, as you do!  We do love a good explore, and this little path/clearing/bunch of trees seemed rather photogenic.  As trees go, anyway.

Can never wear long socks without spending half my time yanking them up!

Rimmel’s Lasting Finish by Kate Moss lipsticks are my current faves, mainly because they do exactly as they say on the tin.  I’ve been wearing my 3 on rotation near enough – this one is 08, which is a ‘my lips but darker’ kinda shade that I love.  Doesn’t look really obvious that you’re wearing any but adds a little something.

Only one more week of this writing challenge to go!  It’ll be weird not having a question to write about daily.  Some lovely people have said they’ve enjoyed reading, which makes me really happy!  You guysssss ;D

Completely agree with what you’ve written and it’s a good reminder to not worry or try to predict because we will never know!

The tree is giant! Wow! Mushroom too! It looks like a stool or shelf that you could sit on. It looks like a nice day to take photos and the blue of the shirt works well against the natural browns, rusts and greens of nature. Things look damp around here too, but not so woodsy.

    yeah… who knows?

Isn’t it just! It does look weird, we didn’t dare touch it though. We have no shortage of woodsiness and green round these parts!
