Forever finding ways to wear clothes unconventionally!  I’ve tried this ‘shawls worn as tops’ thing before but it seems to work especially well with this super lacy one.  Not the most practical of outfits but who cares.  It’s a huge shawl that loads of time and effort went into so might as well get maximum wear somehow.  Worn with a bralet underneath it’s perfectly decent so why not!  I really like the navy lace against white.  Knit and crochet lace is everywhere right now, as has been the case for a few summers, and hopefully for the next few summers too.  Guess it goes with the festival vibe.  This time last year my mum and I were churning out finished items like nobody’s business and I think it’s about time I cracked on again this year.  Handknits are often thought of as woolly wintery things but I kinda prefer the little summery pieces myself.

Joshua James Jewellery very kindly offered me an item to feature and after much deliberation, these hoops were my choice.  Thomas Sabo pieces are so pretty!  Love the black and silver.  I genuinely haven’t taken these out since they arrived, even to sleep haha.  None of that stabby business at the back you see.  Quality earrings are a fab everyday piece, especially those that aren’t quite so tiny they’re barely noticeable, but not doorknockers that make your ears feel like they’ll go like this.  (Stretchers really freak me out, can’t deal!).  I did have my seconds pierced too a couple of years ago but they healed up really quickly so I’m back with just the basic firsts now.  Multiple ear piercings do look really cool, as do nose studs I think, but I’m far too funny about needles to actually get any more!  Counting down the days ’til I can have my first tattoo (217!!) with no fear, but totally freaking out at the thought of a needle actually going through cartilage or something.

Looks like a ‘best man holding the rings’ shot haha… Difficult to show them off properly without a weird closeup of my earlobe!

Hope everyone’s having a lovely Easter so far!  My last few days have been fab. I’ve been on a couple of really fun shoots with my mum, and we’ve another one planned for next week that should make for a very unusual blog post so watch this space!  I’ve been out with my girls which was really fun; had a great night with good company!  And I finally met Libby and Leslie yesterday after 8 years or so of knowing each other online, which was so exciting!  Whole post to come on that one but I just had to mention it now because I was sooo excited, if you hadn’t gathered.

Those earrings are beautiful! I’m not surprised you chose them and also being able to get a good photo must be weird! I think I’d have been tempted to lay them on something and just have a photo of them. But I like how you managed it as well. Really love how you are wearing that lace shawl. I bet it would be really comfortable to wear whilst on holiday in the sun!

They’re gorgeous aren’t they! I did think of doing that but my hand seemed the easier option haha. It’d be great wearing a shawl like this on a beach somewhere boiling wouldn’t it! Ahh I want a summer holiday like nowww!
