9 times I am happiest

It’s been a while since my last blog series, so I’ve decided to start a new one.  ‘9 answers’  – just a short and sweet one that can’t descend into ramblings as my posts so often do.  Starting with ‘I am happy when’.  Wanted to start one a chirpy note. 🙂

I am happy when I wake up early and the sun’s shining in my room.  Just one reason I love having an attic room – I can leave the roof blinds open at night and wake up with sunshine.  I know that even a sliver of light can drive some people mental but I like it.  What could be more motivating and happy-inducing, really?

I am happy when reading the thoughtful, personal comments people leave on my blog.  I’d still write even if nobody commented, but the fact that the same people have been reading and commenting on my blog for literally years makes me so happy.  Forever grateful for you guys!

I am happy when I’m surrounded by old friends and new friends, it’s late, we’ve all had a drink or 6, nobody’s thinking about college or work or the future and everybody’s just smiling their face off and dancing around.  Those ‘OMG life is all about the people’ moments when inhibitions don’t exist are happy times.  (Then go for a hangover run in the morning).

I am happy when I’m enjoying someone’s company and just that in itself is enough.  No need for fancy activities to keep you constantly occupied – sometimes it’s nicer just to appreciate the company and enjoy the person.

I am happy when there’s no drama between my friends.  Even if it’s nothing to do with me, it’s not exactly nice knowing there’s bad feeling going on.  Having no drama is the best!

I am happy when I make a really good choice from a restaurant menu.  Foodie gal right here!  Big smile on my face when my plate arrives and I know I chose THE best option.

I am happy when I’ve completed a really tough workout and genuinely enjoyed it.  Well, enjoyed the pain as much is possible.  Getting a serious endorphin high after boxing atm!

I am happy when I have a trip to look forward to.  Will forever love spontaneous getaways, but counting down the days to something set in stone is so exciting.

I am happy when my family just get me so well and I realise that I got lucky with this lot.  Sometimes I think my mum and I are actually the same person; I can just say ‘you know what I mean’, and she knows exactly what I mean with zero explanation.  My dad and I can talk about the most random of topics, and I can pretty much always rely on my dad to find a solution.  My brother and I get on loads better these days and (whilst he still, and probably always will, annoys me) he’s a genuinely nice lad who wouldn’t hurt a fly.  Makes me happy when I notice these little moments.

Which little things make you happiest?

Aww, we still always love to read you after all this time! <3
I am so happy when I can drink my coffee at my window, listening to birds chipping and the distant chimes of the nearby church bells. I am happy when I can sit at my favorite spot in my favorite tea shop – with the cosiest sofa! When I finish knitting a garnment, trying it on an realising it perfectly fits, I think nothing's more satisfying! Meeting new people around a drink or some, and getting along so well it's like you've been friends forever. Smoking a cigarette whilst wandering in Paris streets is also a guilty pleasure, although it tends to be extremely rare! I think I could go on an on about it–we all could isn't that true!

    Have a wonderful day! xxx

Thank you so much for sticking around Clothilde! You are one of the ones I’m so so grateful for 😀
That sounds like the perfect happy cosy moment! It’s so satifying watching something you’ve made fit perfectly isn’t it. I can’t wait to have time to make clothes again once exams are over.
      Have a lovely weekend!

This is such a nice idea. I love reading what makes other people happy and this is such a nice spin on it. I’m most happy when I can find a quiet moment in the day to read a few chapters of my book. I’m always happy when I have a cup of steaming hot tea in my hands and I’m happy when I can enjoy the company of my best friends. I also really appreciate quiet Sundays spent with the family. I hope you are having an amazing day.
