no gape skinny jeans (that actually fit well!)

high-waist-new-look-jeans

Denim that doesn’t gape at the back for the first time in history!  I’ve whinged and whined before about most jeans and how they’ll perfectly fit hips/bum or waist, but never both.  I know I have a good few inches difference between both areas (more than average, most likely) but I’ve heard so many people complain about the same fit issue that it baffles me why most clothing is still made this way.  Lots of us got these #bigbootyproblems!  Obviously I could drop a couple of hundred quid on a pair and have them fit every square inch perfectly, but we’re in the real world here.  That kind of tailoring is out of my budget maybe.  For now, back to this high street pair!

I’d heard from a couple of friends that New Look jeans are usually pretty good for fit, particularly at the waist, so I’m not sure really why it took me so long to give them a try.  I suppose I do have a fair few pairs of jeans in my drawers but only 4 that I actually wear any more, and probably only 2 that are on regular rotation.  The rest either drive me insane to wear (that feeling of jeans too low around the crotch is soooo annoying – I don’t know how guys do it!), or go really saggy at the knees and bum after sitting down in them once.  Saggy ass is never good.  So, my Friday morning late start last week was spent in New Look with my mum, quickly plucking a pair that looked about right and trying them on in an equally quick fashion.  Which isn’t exactly easy with spray on skinnies – surely I can’t be the only one that does the strangest leprechaun style jig to pull them on?  Anyway as I’d been told, they fit nice and snugly all over, so mama treated me to the pair.  They’re actually long enough to properly reach my ankles too, which is pretty rare.  Still don’t come as high waisted as the imaginary pair in my head do, but said imaginary pair would probably reach the armpits of someone without my exceptionally long torso.  Might be a while before I find my ultimate denim holy grail!

Anddd I just wrote 2 full paragraphs about a single piece of clothing.  But hey, everybody wears jeans so that’s all the justification I need.  Our jeans are a big thing in our lives.  And if I can’t write 2 paragraphs about jeans here, then where can I?

Me too! H&M are usually pretty good at first too, but tend to fall out of shape!

Yay, I’m happy you found a good pair. I went on a jeans spree recently and bought four pairs. At the time they fitted but I’ve put a little weight on since then so I only wear one of the pairs. But it’d hard trying to find a good pair, in the fit colour, fit, style, length and comfiness! x

That’s quite the spree! Where from? I find the super skinny but stretchy ones are usually the comfiest, more so than the looser but non stretchy ones anyway 🙂

A mixture of Dorothy Perkins and New Look. Super skinny are really hard to get on though aren’t they?! Though I suppose once they are on, they stay on!!

I have a pair of New Look jeans and I really like the for the fit, the only thing is the ankles! I have quite large thighs compared to the bottom half of my leg which makes it hard for me to find a fully skinny skinny jean! I do love the New Look jeans for the price though, you look lovely!

Thank you Lucy! I guess it’d be impossible for such a fitted shape to fit everyone perfectly!

They look lovely! I have a long torso too, so find it hard to find things that fit me proper. Tops never cover my stomach either! Grr. Maybe that’s why I stick to dresses. But then most of them could do with being an inch or two long! I’m not even that tall!

Thanks Corinne! Cropped tops are never long enough on me either, they all fit more like a bralet! And waistlines on dresses are usually far too high too. Ahh clothes can be annoying!

I love when you find a good pair of jeans. I find it really difficult to find a pair that are comfy and fit so these look wonderful. I own a pair from the Lipsy Michelle Keegan line and they’re my favourites so far 🙂

I have the exact same problem with jeans, even low waisted ones, my grandma is always telling me I have a ‘hollow back’ whatever that means…These look AMAZING on you though, so I’ll definitely be calling into new look to try them out! I can never find pairs high waisted enough for me either, and I’m not even very tall, so you’re not the only one dreaming of those! x

Hollow back, not heard that one before! Arched spine maybe? Thank you! New Look in general seem to fit pretty well!

I have exactly the same problem – or rather the manufacturers have a problem in that they think most people have stick thin legs and a body like a barrel, so they’d fit Mrs Potato but no normal person unless they were 5 months preggers …infact, that’s the only time I’ve ever fitted into standard sized jeans. I don’t have an amazing figure like you but I do have a fat arse and a slim waist 😀 and I’d like to show that off one day. I’ll check out the jeans at new look, thanks!

I don’t understand why most clothes are made like that! I have pretty muscly quads so jeans are sometimes really tight there too. Haha I’m sure you have a lovely figure don’t be silly!
