cute

pompom-peds-purl-soho

Just one of those ‘posts in which Lily babbles on about her life’ to accompany photos of a cute pair of socks my mum made, because why not.  Who says words and photos have to be the slightest bit related?

**For anybody who is interested in the socks (I know there are still some of you knitters out there!) they’re from the Pom Pom Peds pattern by Purl Soho.  Love their sweet and simple designs.  Both my mum and I used to make socks years ago but these are the first off the needles in yonks.  I’m liking the more sporty shape, and POM POMS WOOO.  Who doesn’t want bunny tails on their ankles?  Yarn is Red Rocks Fiber Works Merino/Seacell that was gifted to us by Sam from Colorado when we met up years ago – only taken about 6 years to actually make it into something!**

So, life lately!

Prom. This time last year was all about prom for us, and I went along to watch the current year 11s arrive at theirs last night.  I’d hoped to a mini red carpet coverage a la Baftas for a blog post but it didn’t really work out!  Everybody looked absolutely stunning and the dresses were gorgeous (like, seriously AMAZING) but we just hadn’t realised that the whole prom shebang was starting earlier this year than ours had, and missed half of the arrivals. -.-  So just imagine a whole load of paparazzi photographs of beautiful boys and girls, would you?  I was totally planning to be a red carpet reporter and ask where peoples’ outfits were from, even though I hardly actually know anybody in the year below.   Still a fun night to watch and reminisce though!  How the hell was prom a whole year ago OMG.  Haven’t had an opportunity to wear my dress (ahem jumpsuit) again yet. 🙁  It’s a shame we only have one prom here in the UK, very jealous of you Americans with all your proms and homecomings and whatever-you-call-thems!

Finding out who reads my blog.  Other than people scattered across the globe who leave comments and my friends and family, I don’t know which of the people I know in ‘real life’ actually click through from Facebook or Instagram.  A couple of people have told me this week though that they read and know others who do (hi there back table in my history class!).  I guess it’s kinda strange that people I know very little about know so much about me.  Weirddd.

Instagram addiction.  Scrolling, tapping, scrolling, double tapping, scrolling, following, more scrolling.  Yup.  Far too many minutes of my life gone there.  Some themed accounts are so pretty and neat it’s crazy!  Don’t think I’d ever have the consistency in my life to have a consistent feed tbh.  Snaps of photogenic puddles, anyone?  Oh and my hallway is now recognised as The Mirror Selfie Place as soon as my friends walk through the door.  #sorrynotsorry

More girly catchups, with my friend Ellie this time.  We always have so much to update each other on, it’s crazy!  Like, a lotttt.  Day off college well spent.

Awww, your mom made them? Wow, they are sooo cute! I have to knit a pair for myself now! I have a mini-instagram addiction right now. By that, I mean, I like looking at photos, double tapping and repeat! Haha <3

your socks are lovely! You take after your mum with your talent for making lovely clothes! I love reading your posts as you know! It does be strange as you said that so many know so much about you and you know so little about them! That’s the thing about having an amazing blog and being someone that people love to follow! You make alot of people happy with your lovely posts and incredible outfits! I believe you will be a huge success in the future with whatever you do! Anyway, i think you are just so awesome! Have a lovely weekend xx
