liebster award

Liebster Award Thank you so much Roseanne and Heather for nominating me for the Liebster award!  ‘Liebster’ translates from German into someone ‘nice, lovely, kind and dear’, so it really is a compliment to be nominated.  The idea is for new-ish bloggers with under 200 followers to promote each other, which I think is lovely as it reinforces the social aspect of blogging. Isn’t that what it’s all about?

Anyway, the award works as follows:

  • Each nominee must answer the 11 questions from the person who nominated them.
  • You must then choose 11 other who have under 200 followers to pass on the award.
  • Tell them about their nomination.
  • Choose 11 new questions for them to answer, and so on!

Without further ado, here are my answers to Roseanne and Heather’s questions.  Some were similar so I’ve doubled up.

What is your favourite season? A toss up between summer and autumn. Summer is great for relaxing, but I love the cosiness of Autumn and my birthday is in November.

What was your last splurge on? My coral Nike Free 3.0s. I’d wanted a pair for a while and they were definitely worth the splurge. For someone who does quite a bit of exercise they’re great; they’re ridiculously comfortable and it barely feels like I’m wearing shoes at all. I’m sure the rest of my family are grateful too – I make far less noise when leaping about to YouTube workouts in the early mornings!

Who is your style icon?  Jennifer Lawrence.  I’ve been told I look like her quite a few times, which is quite the compliment!

What is your must-have beauty product / If you could only use one makeup product for the rest of your life, what would it be? I couldn’t live without my favourite concealer, a Touché Éclat dupe from Lacura at Aldi. For such a steal it really is brilliant.

Tea or Coffee? Whilst I do enjoy the odd coffee, I’m definitely a tea drinker at heart! A good brew every morning without fail since I was about 9 years old haha. Recently I’ve been slightly more adventurous than the PG tips and have been enjoying some fruit and herbal teas too.

Made in Chelsea or TOWIE? MIC all the way, I’m watching the new series as I type! I haven’t ever actually watched TOWIE so can’t really comment, but I do love my Monday night Chelsea fix. It’s so addictive, and the absolute best for outfit inspiration. Just give me their wardrobes ok? And who doesn’t love some good bitchy reality TV;)

Do you collect anything? Not particularly, although my ever expanding collection of notebooks is quite extensive!

What is your favourite item in your wardrobe at the moment?  Difficult question – I’ve been wearing my Topshop cutout boots all the time so we’ll go with that.

Favourite beauty brand? A toss up between Urban Decay (lovelovelove my Naked 2 palette) and Bobbi Brown. Or MAC.

What do you love the most about blogging?  Finding so many likeminded people is amazing, and I really hope to get to know some of you other lovely bloggers better!  I enjoy writing, photography and styling in general, plus blogging is a great way to share my designs.

Describe yourself in one word?  Tall! :p

Shorts or skirts? If I must pick, skirts.

What was the last makeup item you brought?  I had a mini makeup haul at the weekend actually: Rimmel Wake me up foundation and liquid blusher, 2true tech extreme eyeliner and a couple of other eyebrow products.

Favourite animal?  I was that horse obsessed girl all through primary school and spent all my spare time with my pony at the stables. So yep it would have to be horses, for nostalgia’s sake!

What are your plans for the future, if any? / What are your aspirations for the future?  Actually, I did a post on this a couple of weeks ago.  My immediate plans are to enjoy my last year of high school and 2 years at college as much as possible, work hard and get good grades hopefully! I really don’t know exactly what I want to do from there, but career-wise something combining writing, designing, and photography would be so perfect!  A girl can dream;)

Strawberry, chocolate or vanilla? If we’re talking ice cream then vanilla, otherwise all 3!

Why did you decide to start a blog?  This blog was actually started by my mum way back in 2007, and as I started guest posting more frequently I found I really enjoyed it and took over Jolihouse myself.  My mum now blogs her photography here.

The bloggers I nominate are:
  1. Girly-girl or tomboy?
  2. Best bargain in the last month?
  3. Favourite autumn trend?
  4. What scent do you wear?
  5. If you were stranded on a desert island and could have one item only, what would it be?
  6. Celebrity lookalike?
  7. Midi, maxi, or mini?
  8. Trends you didn’t ‘get’?
  9. If you could spend £100 on one item, what would it be?
  10. City-slicker or country gal?
  11. What do you love most about blogging?

So that’s me, looking forward to hearing about you!
