What decision are you glad you made?

Choosing the college I did springs to mind straight away.  So far I’m really enjoying myself, so hopefully I’ll spend the rest of my two years happy that I made the right decision!  Must be pretty crap if you wind up not liking it too far in to change.  People seem really lovely and friendly where I’m at, and don’t always stick in the same groups as school.  Obviously we all still hang out together, but I like that there’s a bit of mingling goes on too.  New friends are always a good thing. 😀

The other choice would have been the nearer college that’s actually in town, (which usually attracts people) along with having more freedom there to leave campus, go in late, or leave early.  Personally I prefer having 4 longer days and one full ‘study day’; it suits my personality far better and breaks the week up nicely.  I don’t much fancy being in town every day either!  Yeah you can go for a browse in your frees, but Topshop in such close proximity would probably be unwise anyway.  Having nowhere particularly of note to wander means that I usually (not always) crack on with work whilst sat with friends, so not too much time goes to waste!

Does help that I actually enjoy the subjects I’ve picked too, of course!  (Maths, physics, history and textiles for anyone that’s interested).  Physics may well become the bane of my life in the coming future but I’m still glad I chose it.  Having a mixed bag helps too: I’d probably go mad if I was studying 4 similar subjects (maths and all the sciences, for example).  Need some variety, you know?  Makes me appreciate those lessons spent dying fabric or using a sewing machine far more!

On another note, how was everybody’s Halloween?  What did you dress up as?  See my look here. 🙂  I had such a fun night at a Halloween party (thanks Georgie, Julie and Steve!) and loved seeing everyone in their costumes.  What were messy curls in my hair last night were more like dreadlocks this morning and I had an opticians appointment at 10:15, so today was a hat day for sure!  You can imagine the mess I looked after trying to put contact lenses in for half an hour (my first time) and with Medusa hair all over the place.  Looked like I was having a breakdown rather than an opticians appointment haha.  Oh well. 🙂

Physics is one of my favorites and I really ought to have been a history major (started out as an engineer and then got a degree in Eastern European history and international relations). I’ll date myself a bit and note that your “history” book on the U.S. ends the year I started high school! Oh my goodness. Let me know if you have any questions, since I lived through part of it! lol. Seriously though, I did a lot of U.S. public policy and am a huge history buff so ask away! You ought to try to come over to Williamsburg and some of those places at some point! xx

We are very similar indeed then Kathy! We only study up to 1940, so slightly more historical haha! Thank you so much for offering, I may well take you up on it. I’d love to!
