First chance to crack out the swimwear and I was all over it, like the true Brit I am! Since this Triangl bikini landed on my doorstep in February I’ve been craving enough sun to give it a whirl. BBC Weather promised a heatwave so in my bag it went! As soon as whispers of good weather were heard I think the whole country started gearing up for barbecues and dug out the factor 30. I love how the sun lifts everyone’s mood (well, save for the strange people who hide indoors in the dark) and heat is literally the topic of 90% of conversations for every day it lasts. We’re not used to actual warmth round these parts! One mini heatwave and the whole country loses it. Oh England. <3 <3 <3
I’ll admit Coniston water wasn’t exactly the temperature of a Carribbean beach, but who cares. I feel like bikinis force you to adopt a ‘who cares’ kind of mindset – can’t help feeling like you’re throwing caution to the wind when you’re that exposed. Everybody else in shorts and tshirts? Who cares. Ate too many carbs last night and feel softer than you’d like? Who cares. You’re probably the only one who can notice the difference anyway. Confidence has far more of an impact than last night’s garlic bread ever will! Never underestimate the power of rolling your shoulders back and standing up straight, too. Amazing what posture can do for your mindset.

As for the bikini itself, mine’s the Piper style and I’d say I picked well! Balcony styles are my favourites. 2016 is apparently the year of the one-piece but considering how popular Triangl was throughout 2015, I don’t think the bikinis will die a death any time soon! I’m already excited to wear mine again in Budapest in July! OK so I’m absolutely buzzing about the trip in general, but especially excited to see the bath house culture for myself. If anybody has Budapest recommendations I should add to the itinerary, give me a shout!
