10 things I’ve learnt in my first year of travel blogging

Last year’s May bank holiday was considerably more hectic than this one will be.  I was in Mallorca on my first press trip, rather giddy, having lots of fun and taking as many cliché blogger photos as humanly possible.  My 2016 blogging goal had been to make it out of the country on the back of my blog, and I remember quite literally jumping around the room when the invitation email landed in my inbox.  Probably looked like I was on…

Sintra | My Lisbon Day Trip

Thought I was done posting about my jollies back in March? I’m afraid you thought wrong. Too much to share I’m afraid. I considered slotting in my Sintra daytrip in with the rest of the fun in my Lisbon blog post, but changed my mind. This one’s deserving of a post all of its own. One of the many perks to a Lisboa card is the included train travel from Lisbon to Sintra and Cascais – two possible daytrip destinations…

Making the most of last minute opportunities | Stress Free Travel

Judging by the ‘wish I was on holiday’ tweets that fill my timeline every day, I know I’m not the only one who’s constantly thinking about their next trip or obsessively trawling Skyscanner.  The more I travel, the more I see others travel, the more I want to travel.  It’s oh so addictive.  A sunny sandy beach would hit the spot right know, you know?  If you’re anything like me, you’ll be keeping a beady eye on last minute deals…

Haweswater | The drowned village that gave me the weird feels

Sometimes a place can give you the feels in the weirdest of ways.  Haweswater was one of those places. I’m rather fond of the Lake District,if you hadn’t noticed.  I quite like it.  (Read: my no.1 place ever).  However, despite the fact that I go on and on about the Lakes both here and on my Instagram, there are SO many parts of it I’ve yet to explore.  So many.  It’s been a wee while since my last jaunt to…

Hotel Mundial, Lisbon | Rooftop Bars, Sweet Treats & THAT View

How on Earth has a month passed since my Lisbon trip already?  Take me back right now puh-lease.  What a place.  I’ve already shared why I think you NEED a Lisbon city break (spoiler: pretty views, interesting streets, full of surprises, custard tarts) but I thought my stay at Hotel Mundial Lisbon deserved a whole post of its own.  I’ve been lucky enough to have the chance to stay in some pretty cool hotels over the last year or so, but I’ve…

Retrome | The Rome Urban Retreat Hotel for Your Next City Break

Girl's reflection in front of wide rectangle mirror. Retro style hotel in Rome Italy.

So it’s a rainy bank holiday here in England, I’m drinking coffee (what’s new) and I’d very much like to be back in my cosy room in my Rome urban retreat hotel rather than at my desk right now.  Retrome, you were good to me! Sadly that’s not the case, but at least I can kinda relive it through photos and my scribbly notes though, right?  Because I’d be on that plane this evening if I could.  I knew before setting…

Why you NEED a Lisbon city break this summer

Oh Lisbon what a darling you were.  Pretty views, interesting streets, full of surprises and custard tarts.  There’s my Lisbon city break post in summary. Seriously though, I can’t recommend Lisbon enough.  And that’s despite the fact that it rained for the majority of my trip.  There might have been a literal dampener on my trip but I didn’t let it turn into a metaphorical one!  Needless to say I made the most of the intermittent blue skies for photos….
